These products, some of which are still at the prototype stage, are intended for various applications such as sports, health or protection. But these innovations, although hailed by early adopters, face serious obstacles with most other consumers, as evidenced by the study we conducted on the users’ expectations.

Thus, questions related to the use of data and health risks are very stong and probably require more work from the developers to overcome the legitimate reluctance of consumers.

Is this increasingly connected world the promise of a better life with new services or is it synonymous with cyber surveillance where privacy will continue to be reduced ?

It will probably be a bit of both, driven by the boom of the Internet of things as demonstrated by our analysis of trends in SIDO, an event dedicated to this theme. The market seems to be only in its beginning but it should weigh USD 320 billion in 2020, offering great opportunities for companies in this sector.

This is the ambition of our experts in this issue. They explain the new paradigms associated with this mutation and present the innovations they support within their structures.
